I pass this everyday in Charleston. It reminds me to keep an open mind and relax because it’s all madness anyway. Someone wrote it on a construction plank that is outside a major steel skeleton and I think it’s ironic because there is always noise, sparks, and metal moving…it’s madness. It’s very moving also because it says “this” instead of “the”; it makes it hit closer to home. The madness is here not somewhere else, but you need to escape it. Also the word “yourselves” shows that you, personally, are the only one who can save you from the madness. It’s no one else’s responsibility and no one else will do it for you. Plus you have to realize that you need to be free, although this sign is a friendly push in the right direction, and I hope this blog makes you realize it too. Before you get worried or stressed and before you over think something just remember, “free yourselves from this madness.”
